The name of Platform jump has changed a bit in the Rulebook, without that the discipline has changed itself. I would suggest to change the name from Platform jump into Platform High Jump like, as it is called in the rulebook.

I am also in favour of including the discipline Long Jump on Platform in the WRG as well. Especially since the current rule change in the Ruelbook Committee makes it even more different from the classic long jump.

Comment

I agree on both issues.

What about the others? Are the non-existent comments to be seen as consent?
Then we could make a proposal here...

Comment

I think that some committee members will not comment in a discussion if they think they have not much to add. In that sense, non-existent comments could indeed be seen as consent. Perhaps for some committee members that don't post a lot anyway, it could rather signify a lack of interest. :-(

Once a proposal has been made, there is some more time to discuss it. I assume for the time being, that in the voting period most committee members wil vote, even if they haven't commented much or at all.

From all of the above, I would say that indeed you can make a proposal.

However, the one thing that concerns me is that in the way that you suggested, there is no automatic link between the Rulebook and the WRG. All Rulebook items are "manually copied" to the WRG. I wonder if we can somehow delineate areas (chapters) in the Rulebook, such that all disciplines in these areas automatically have an associated WR, including the name from the Rulebook. Perhaps we should discuss this in "Relationship and referencing between World Record Guidelines and IUF Rulebook", even though a proposal has already been made there (by me).

What do you (plural) think?

Comment

In my opinion we should add platform long and high jump and also name it as it is in the rulebook.

When I have a look at our current list, which is publicated here: https://unicycling.org/unicycling/world-records/iuf-world-records/ I can see that platform high and long jump are already included there.

Comment

Indeed there is a discrepancy between the WR Guidelines and the WR List (and the Rulebook). Let's make everything consistent.

Comment

I was thinking exactly the same Klaas, telepathy?

The names of the jump disciplines are not consistent in Rulebook 2017 and actual WR list.

Rulebook 2017:
High Jump
Long Jump
Platform High Jump
Long Jump on Platform

Actual WR List:
High Jump over the bar
Long Jump
High Jump on Platform
Long Jump on Platform

Agree to follow the Rulebook for naming the records. For high jump we do not actually.

Why is "adding long jump on platform" in the title of this discussion?

Comment

Erik wrote "Why is "adding long jump on platform" in the title of this discussion?"

Because our discussions are essentially about the World Record Guidelines. The WR List should just be derived from the WRG. There is no Long jump on platform in the WRG.

Comment

Ok thanks.

Comment

My non-comment was an indication of consent :)

Comment

Jan, I think you can create a proposal.

Comment

Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to do it at the weekend, but I will make a proposal soon.

Comment

When I created the proposal I noticed that all discipines contain the note: "must fit with the rules set out in the IUF Rulebook."
If we add this already in section 1, this hint will actually become superfluous in the texts here. But I think we could make an extra proposal afterwards.

Comment

I agree that we could drop this phrase. It is not in Chapter 1 of the WRG at the moment, but Proposal 2 intends to add it.

If that gets accepted, we can make an additional proposal to get rid of "and must fit with the rules set out in the IUF Rulebook."
