Proposal 20: Remove the Record "Rope skipping (most skips in one minute)" [ Revision 1 ]

Committee: Review and Update the Guidelines
Submitted on 2024-11-06
Status: Passed on November 23, 2024

Background

The performance “Rope skipping (most skips in one minute)” is not associated with the competitive sport of unicycling, which is why a corresponding record as an official IUF World Record is not very plausible and does not fit into the image of unicycling as a professional competitive sport.

It is therefore proposed that the record “Rope skipping (most skips in one minute)” is removed from the IUF World Record Guidelines and thus no longer recognized as an official IUF World Record.

Proposal

Old Rule:

7.2.1 Rope skipping (most skips in one minute)
The rope must start in a resting position on the floor behind the wheel. A skip is counted only when the rope is deemed to have passed directly underneath the axle of the unicycle.
A video must be used to document the entire 60 second sequence from start to finish. It should show the rider and rope clearly from the side rather than from the front, so that the rope can be seen passing under the axle. A stopwatch or counter should be visible on the video and accurate to 0.01s

New Rule:
