Proposal 33: Finalizing structure of chapter 5 (Road Racing Records) [ Revision 1 ]

Committee: Review and Update the Guidelines
Submitted on 2025-05-15
Status: Review from May 15, 2025 to May 20, 2025

Background

Now that we have approved the general documentation criteria and those for the individual disciplines, we should do the fine-tuning on the rest of the individual discipline chapters. This concerns the general section and the section on the individual categories.

The items currently listed under 5.1 General have either already been moved to section 5.2 Road Racing specific Documentation Criteria or are included in the IUF Rulebook and therefore do not need to be listed in the new section 5.1.

The fact that all records are listed for standard unicycles and unlimited unicycles has been integrated into section 5.1, so that the following list remains a little clearer.

Proposal

Old Rule:

5 ROAD RACING RECORDS

5.1 GENERAL
Road racing records are run as races, therefore:
• they can be done on a point-to-point, circuit, or multi-lap course
• drafting is allowed
• The start and finish line should ideally be the in the same area. If not, there must be not more than +/- 50m elevation difference between the start and finish  area
• the world record distance is the minimum distance required. For instance, a 43.0km course can be used for a marathon record, but a 42.0km course cannot
• The record is the time required to complete the course in its entirety. No adjustment will be made for the distance which a course exceeds that of a specified record
• records must be set from a stationary start

5.2 ROAD RACING RECORD CATEGORIES
