Background
This is the last of three proposals sprouting from Discussion # 7 "unlimited, ungeared and 100 km". This has become a complicated discussion because of the various subjects. Two of those subjects have resulted in a passed proposal.
There are some good arguments in Discussion #7 about adding unlimited-ungeared, but they are hard to follow because of the mix of subjects.
Therefore, I think the (further) discussion about adding unlimited-ungeared can best be held in Discussion #30 (which is associated with this proposal).
Proposal
OLD RULE (after implementation of passed proposals #5 and #6):
4.2.1 10km unlimited
This is the fastest ride over a 10km distance, on an unlimited unicycle.
4.2.2 10km standard
This is the fastest ride over a 10km distance, on an standard unicycle.
4.2.3 Marathon unlimited 42.195km
This is a fastest ride over a 42.195km distance, on an unlimited unicycle.
4.2.x Marathon standard 42.195km
This is the fastest ride over a 42.195km distance, on a standard unicycle.
4.2.x 100km unlimited
This is the fastest ride over a 100km distance, on an unlimited unicycle.
4.2.x 100km standard
This is the fastest ride over a 100km distance, on a standard unicycle.
NEW RULE:
4.2.1 10km distance
This is the fastest ride over a 10km race distance.
4.2.1.1 10km distance, on a standard 24 Class unicycle.
4.2.1.2 10km distance, on a non-geared but otherwise unlimited unicycle.
4.2.1.3 10km distance, on an unlimited, geared unicycle.
4.2.2 42.195km (Marathon) distance
This is a fastest ride over a 42.195km (marathon) race distance.
4.2.2.1 42.195km (Marathon) distance, on a standard 29 Class unicycle.
4.2.2.2 42.195km (Marathon) distance, on a non-geared but otherwise unlimited unicycle.
4.2.2.3 42.195km (Marathon) distance, on an unlimited, geared unicycle.
4.2.3 100km distance
This is a fastest ride over a 100km race distance.
4.2.3.1 100km distance, on a standard 29 Class unicycle.
4.2.3.2 100km distance, on a non-geared but otherwise unlimited unicycle.
4.2.3.3 100km distance, on an unlimited, geared unicycle.
Body
The essence of this proposal is to add an unlimited-ungeared category to each of the three Road Race World Record distances besides the already existing standard and (fully) unlimited categories.
There were disagreeing opinions in Discussion #7. Let's see if we can come to an agreement.
Eventually, whether we achieve consensus or not, we will vote about this proposal.
Note that I have slipped in the phrases 24 Class and 29 Class. Not sure if this is covered elsewhere for the standard Road Race records, but it should be stated somewhere. (Same holds for the Rulebook BTW.)
