Proposal 34: Finalizing structure of chapter 6 (Time Trial Records) [ Revision 1 ]

Committee: Review and Update the Guidelines
Submitted on 2025-05-15
Status: Review from May 15, 2025 to May 20, 2025

Background

Now that we have approved the general documentation criteria and those for the individual disciplines, we should do the fine-tuning on the rest of the individual discipline chapters. This concerns the general section and the section on the individual categories.

Since all time trail records are only listed as unlimited records, I have moved the corresponding information to section 6.1, which keeps the list of record categories cleaner.

I have moved the aspects "stationary start" and "no drafting" to the documentation criteria, as this is about documenting a certain behavior of the rider.

Proposal

Old Rule:

6 TIME TRIAL RECORDS

6.1 GENERAL
These must be performed on a circuit track as a time-trial from a stationary start. No drafting is allowed. The rider must be visible to witnesses at all times.

6.2 TIME TRIAL RECORD CATEGORIES
6.2.1 1 hour unlimited
This is the furthest distance travelled on an unlimited unicycle in a one hour period.
Distance calculation is based on section 5.1.3.
6.2.2 24 hour unlimited
This is the furthest distance travelled on an unlimited unicycle in a 24 hour period.
Distance calculation is based on section 5.1.3.
6.2.3 10 kilometre unlimited
This is the fastest ride on an unlimited unicycle over a 10km distance.
6.2.4 100 kilometre unlimited
This is the fastest ride on an unlimited unicycle over a 100 kilometre distance.
6.2.5 100 mile unlimited
This is the fastest ride on an unlimited unicycle over a 100mile distance.

New Rule:

6 Time Trial Records

6.1 General

2. Only records on unlimited unicycles will be recognized; there will be no further subdivision into wheel classes.

6.2 Time Trails specific Documentation Criteria
